AMD Vega is getting close to release with each passing day. We are also getting new details regarding the next generation GPU architecture that AMD is introducing. According to Bits And Chips – Eng, AMD Vega pricing will be excellent but the actual game changer will be AMD Navi. We are all hoping that this is indeed the case and that AMD Vega pricing can disrupt the GPU market.
There will be more than one AMD Vega GPU coming out at launch but unfortunately due to the high cost of making these GPUs they will be available in low quantities, so it will not be surprising if these GPUs went out of stock as soon as they hit the shelves as people will indeed be waiting in line in order to get their hands on one of these GPUs.
There are speculation that the upcoming AMD Vega GPUs can be priced at $499 and $599 in order to take on the GTX 1080 and the 1080 Ti respectively and AMD has confirmed that AMD Vega will be competitive and if I was to venture a guess I would say that the competitiveness will be in pricing and not in performance.
If AMD Vega pricing is done right then these GPUs do not even need to provide the exact same performance as the GTX 1080 and other high-end Nvidia GPUs. The pricing has a huge role to play here and we will see what AMD has in store for us in the upcoming few days. According to an MSI marketing director:
“I’ve seen the specs of Vega RX. It needs a damn lot of power. We’re working on it, which is a start so the launch is coming closer.”
Let us know what you think about AMD Vega pricing and whether or not the GPUs will be competitive enough as compared to Nvidia high-end GPUs.
