The CPU features 6 cores and 12 threads and hence is great not only for gaming but content creation as well. The CPU has a base clock of 3.4 GHz and can boost to 3.8 GHz.
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Performs 10% Better Than 1600
The AMD Ryzen 2 based 2600 is based on the 12nm process, while there are no additional cores or threads as compared to the previous generation model there is an increase in performance by 10%. Having that said you can check out the difference in performance below:

As you can see their performance increase is there but some people might not think that 10% is a major boost or worth the upgrade. If you are planning on upgrading then you can rest assured that your existing motherboard will work with these upcoming chips. AM4 platform will remain relevant until 2020 and that is a lot of time. AMD APUs are also coming to laptops as well as AMD Vega Mobile.
This is just one of the chips that will be coming out but there will be more SKUs and it will be interesting to see how well these compete with upcoming Intel chips and what kind of performance boost we can expect to see from other variants as compared to the ones that we currently have on the market.
