AMD Ryzen 2700X is the top of the line variant that is coming out next month and while we have had a few leaks in the last couple of weeks we can now confirm that the AMD Ryzen 2700X along with the rest of the AMD Ryzen 2000 series lineup will be coming out on April 19th, 2018.
While the AMD Ryzen 2700X is the top of the line chip, if you are not interested in going all out then there are other cheaper versions that you can opt for. These chips work with current AM4 motherboards so there will be no issues when swapping out your older CPU for a new AMD Ryzen 2000 series chip. The variants coming out are as follows:
- Ryzen 7 2700X
- Ryzen 7 2700
- Ryzen 5 2600X
- Ryzen 5 2600

New reports claim that the AMD Ryzen CPUs come with Spectre-like bugs but there is also word that these reports are not true. AMD has responded to these claims with the following statement.
If you look at the situation in the following way: right now the public knows about the vulnerabilities and their implications, AMD is fully informed and developing patches, and major security companies are also informed and working on mitigation.
The creator of Linux, Linus Benedict Torvalds also talked about these claims against AMD and the following is what he had to say about the matter at hand.
“I just found a flaw in all of the hardware space. No device is secure: if you have physical access to a device, you can just pick it up and walk away. Am I a security expert yet?”
We are very excited about the upcoming AMD Ryzen 2700X as well as other variants. From what we have seen in the current generation of CPUs, it should be possible to buy the 2600X and overclock it to get similar performance to the 2700X. That could be one of the reasons why the 2800X is not coming out this time. It will be interesting to see what kind of performance these chips will have to offer.
The 2600X is great value for money as it is faster than the 1600X by a slight margin and it is a bit cheaper as well. It will be interesting to see how the audience reacts to this new development.
