Inxile Entertainment might be known to some gamers as a studio that has seen a great deal of success on Kickstarter, with a number of games such as Wasteland 2, Torment: Tides of Numenara, and The Bard’s Tale 4. Now, they’re making a brand new game specifically for the Xbox for Microsoft.
Inxile was one of the many developers made into an Xbox Game Studio, which Microsoft acquired in order to help make more games for the Xbox to shore up its game library. While we don’t know what they’ll be making for Microsoft, hopefully with their track record, it will be a good one.
The company’s page on the website LinkedIn says that they’re making Wasteland 3, along with various other, unannounced projects. Wasteland 3 is slated to be coming out sometime in the spring of 2020 for the PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4, and this is likely only one of the multiple titles they’re making for the Xbox.
Inxile Entertainment might, in addition to making normal Xbox One games, be getting ready to release multiple exclusive games for the Xbox Scarlett when that console is ready to come out. Since a big part of what will ensure either the Playstation 5 or Xbox Scarlett reigns supreme will be exclusives, Microsoft is likely doing their best to attract new gamers.
While we don’t know what new games that Inxile Entertainment will be working on in the future that will be going to the Xbox Scarlett, with that console ready to come out at the end of next year, it’s vitally important that Microsoft be ready to show off exclusives that can draw a crowd.
Since the Playstation 4 dominated this past generation due to greater graphics and many more exclusive titles, Microsoft will have to hit back with the same method if they want to reclaim the spot of dominance that the Xbox 360 had back in the days of the Playstation 3.
