Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Royale Coming Next Year as Free to Play?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has several rumors surrounding it. Now, a new rumor that states that the BR mode will be released next year is catching speed.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is supposed to be the game that puts Activision and Infinity Ward into gamers’ good books again. As such, every little detail about the game is under scrutiny. A new rumor has come which says it will be the Battle Royale mode that will come in early 2020, after the game has been released.

The rumor was first put into the spotlight by LongSensation. It states that the Battle Royale mode in the game will be coming in early 2020, a few months after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

He then continues on to say that it will be a free mode released in early 2020. After this, he appreciates it as a good move.

TheGamingRevolution, who is mostly correct with Call of Duty news, said that he had heard a “similar thing”. According to him, Infinity Ward are focusing on the large multiplayer and Spec Ops modes first. As a consequence, work on the BR mode has been halted. He says that he hasn’t heard much about it being free to play though.

The Battle Royale mode has become something of a divisive topic in the gaming community. When rumors started that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare won’t have one, many praised it for being a step in the right direction. However, others disagreed, thinking that it would take away from the experience.

As we discussed in a previous article, it didn’t make sense for there being no Battle Royale mode. Like it or hate it, it is a part of the world we live in.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be out on October 25 on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.

Until further confirmation, we can only think that this rumor is, well, just a rumor.
