Epic CEO and founder Tim Sweeney recently confirmed Borderlands 3 cross-play between Epic Games Store and Steam players. According to Tim, Borderlands 3 PC players will be able to play the game together, regardless of purchase store.

The confirmation comes as a piece of great news for Borderlands series fans. Basically, it means that those who have purchased the game from Epic Games Store will be able to play with users on Steam. It doesn’t matter if you purchased the game from Epic or Steam Store.
However, do keep in mind that Borderlands 3 cross-play between Epic Games Store and Steam will not be available at launch. For those who don’t know, the latest entry in Borderlands series will release on September 13, 2019, for PC exclusively via Epic Games Store.
The game will come to Steam after its 6-month exclusivity period on Epic Store. Keeping that in mind, Borderlands 3 Epic Games Store and Steam cross-play will not be available until the first half of 2020.
Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford recently confirmed that the team is committed to supporting cross-play for Borderlands 3. But he made it clear that it will not be available at launch. It’s possible that the team will enable cross-play between Steam, Epic Games Store, PS4 and Xbox One all together in 2020.

So there you have it gamers, you will be able to play Borderlands 3 together with your friend regardless of store. All we need is a little bit of patience.
Until then, Borderlands 3’s single-player campaign should keep you busy. The game is now available for pre-order from retail stores and digitally via PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store.
Different editions of the game include Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition, Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, Super Deluxe Edition, and Diamond Loot Chest Collector’s Edition.
Borderlands 3 season pass price is not available yet as it only comes with the game’s Super Deluxe Edition (priced at $99.99) and Collector’s Edition ($249.99).
