Gamescom 2019 is only around a month away, and every major publisher is getting ready to showcase what they can do. A new THQ Nordic Gamescom games trailer has been released for that publisher, showing off what games we’ll be able to see and play when the event rolls around.
Most of the games shown are ones that we’ve already seen, either at E3 or sometime before. They’ll all be playable in one of the convention’s halls (Hall 8, Room A011 to be exact), but there will also be one game they haven’t announced yet. The games include the following.
Biomutant is a game that was announced back in 2017 as one of the first games that THQ Nordic announced in its label. Since then, barring a few other, smaller trailers, we’ve seen nothing about the game and know nothing about it other than that it’s a weird martial arts-style adventure game where you play a creature that can take on the abilities of defeated enemies.
Secondly is Desperado 3, which was revealed at E3 and serves as a strategy game by Mimimi Games. Taking place in the Wild West, the game was nominated as EA’s best strategy game, and we’ll be seeing more of it at Gamescom.
The third of the THQ Nordic Gamescom games is another E3 reveal, Darksiders Genesis. An isometric RPG taking place in the Darksiders universe, the fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse, Strife, finally gets a game of his own.
Fourth is the Destroy All Humans remake, one of the three remakes that THQ Nordic announced during the runup to E3, allowing players to take control of the alien Crypto as he fulfills his mission to conquer the Earth.
Fifth is the remake of Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, one of the classics of the original Xbox and PS2 era, where you take control of Spongebob and his friends to save Bikini Bottom from a robot menace.
However, what’s most interesting about the THQ Nordic Gamescom games is that there’s a sixth one that will be a closed-doors demo, meaning that it won’t be seen by the public. It apparently has a dragon as part of its cover art, so it may be a fantasy game, but until THQ Nordic actually reveals it, who knows what it’s about.
