Elden Ring is Skipping Gamescom 2019

FromSoftware's The Elden Ring will not be playable at Gamescom 2019. Bandai Namco has now revealed its lineup of games for Gamescom.

FromSoftware’s The Elden Ring will not be present at Gamescom 2019 in any form. Publisher Bandai Namco confirmed the absence of The Elden Ring recently by revealing the lineup of its games coming to Gamescom this year.

The list includes a total of seven games that will be playable at the upcoming event. However, The Elden Ring skipping Gamescom 2019 does make sense. That’s because it was only barely announced during E3 2019. It’s possible that the game is not in a playable state yet and is the reason why FromSoftware didn’t show any gameplay at E3.

In addition to this, it’s possible that The Elden Ring is a cross-gen game which is why the developer doesn’t want to show us the game until the official release or reveal of Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5.

With that said, it’s possible that we learn more about The Elden Ring at The Game Awards 2019, PlayStation Experience 2019 or maybe next year during E3 2020. Until then players can check out other Bandai Namco games below that will be playable at Gamescom 2019.

Bandai Namco Gamescom 2019 Lineup

  1. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot
  2. Code Vein
  3. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4
  4. The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan
  5. One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows
  6. Rad
  7. Disney Tsum Tsum

All of these above games will playable at the Bandai Namco booth which can be found at HALL 6, A40/B40 during the event.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 was recently announced at Anime Expo 2019 by Bandai Namco for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The next chapter in the Pirate Warriors series is being developed by Omega Force (known for Dynasty Warriors games).

On the other hand, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot developed by CyberConnect2 was announced during E3 2019 witha trailer. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is an action RPG, which will release sometime in 2020 for Sony PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Personally, I’m excited for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan which is in works by Supermassive Games (the studio which brought us Until Dawn).

As expected, Man of Medan is a horror survival game with a similar play-style like Until Dawn. However, unlike Until Dawn, the upcoming game will feature multiplayer allowing you and your friends to share the horror experience and survive together.

As for the question when is Gamescom 2019? It will start on August 20, 2019, and will end on Aug 24, 2019.
