Over 16,000 Apex Legends Cheaters Have Already Been Banned By Respawn

Where there are huge multiplayer games, there are going to be huge hordes of cheaters, and Apex Legends is no exception. It’s so bad, in fact, that Respawn has banned over 16,000 Apex Legends cheaters in order to keep them from ruining the game even though it hasn’t even been out for two weeks.

There’s currently no “report” function in Apex Legends, which can sometimes prevent players who have experienced cheaters from being able to report them. However, the Apex Legends subreddit does have a post that encourages players to observe and report, likely by either posting on the subreddit or contacting the studio directly.

A report feature for Apex Legends cheaters is apparently in the works, however we don’t know when it will actually come out. Hopefully until then, posting video proof of cheaters and having accounts investigated will be a good enough stopgap.

Apex Legends isn’t the first Battle Royale game to run into huge numbers of cheaters. Bluehole’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has also had this problem ever since the game opened up to Asian regions, allowing hordes of Chinese gamers, many with questionable morals and bad sporting ethics, to come in and quite often cheat their way to victory.

The cheating eventually got so bad that many players were demanding that Bluehole do something, including region-locking the Chinese servers so that cheaters could only play in that region, where most of the cheating was coming from.

While Apex Legends cheaters don’t appear to have gotten that bad yet, there’s still always the possibility that cheaters may be getting into the game faster than Respawn can kick them out. With luck the report feature will be coming soon and those cheaters can get what they deserve.

In the meantime, you can play Apex Legends for free on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
