There Is No Way Cyberpunk 2077 Is Exclusive to Epic Games Store: CD Projekt RED

Epic Games is throwing plenty of money at developers and publishers for exclusive store deals. The Division 2 and Metro Exodus among other notable games are coming to Epic Games Store. Notable titles skipping Valve’s Steam store isn’t making the community happy in any way.

Many wondered if Cyberpunk 2077 will do the same and skip Steam for possibly a more lucrative deal with Epic Games Store. Rest assured, that won’t be happening at all. The official Twitter account for Cyberpunk 2077 confirmed that Epic Games Store exclusive deal won’t be happening. This doesn’t mean that the game won’t release on Epic Games Store, it might. However, it is confirmed that it won’t skip other retailers.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on Steam and other online retailers. Not only that, but the Twitter account confirmed no microtransactions in Cyberpunk. One of the fans took to Twitter and asked if there are any plans to monetize the game with an in-game store. Such stores usually sell cosmetic items that don’t have any impact on gameplay, still, they are universally frowned upon.

According to CD Projekt RED, there are no microtransactions in Cyberpunk 2077. The game will sell for $60 across the board and won’t monetize itself beyond that entry price during its launch phase. Considering how CD Projekt RED has monetized its games in the past such as The Witcher series, we can expect Cyberpunk to have a season pass with additional content.

Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing sometime in the next two years on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Its launch window makes it likely to release on PlayStation 5 and the next Xbox. CD Projekt RED has teased a release date so we do have a good idea when the game hits storefronts.
