Michael from GTA V in Red Dead Redemption 2? Ned Luke Confirms Existence of Easter Egg

Rockstar’s latest open-world wild west title has taken the world by quite the storm. Breaking records and even outselling its predecessor almost immediately. Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t done surprising us yet, however. Alongside all the night-folk and UFOs, the latest endeavor of mystery for players to take is finding Michael from GTA V in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Ned Luke for those of you that don’t know, is both the voice actor and motion capture artist for Michael De Santa in GTA V. GTA is Rockstar’s signature game series, with its fifth installment being the last game before Redemption 2 released.

After a fan spotted Ned Luke’s, AKA Michael’s, name in the credits of Red Dead Redemption 2, they tweeted it at the actor with the question. To everyone’s surprise and delight, Mr. Luke did indeed confirm that Michael is in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Where though? That part’s the mystery. He added in his cryptic tweet that only his character model was kept in the game. The voice work was removed, which I’m curious about as to why. I would’ve loved to hear Michael’s beautiful, sarcastic voice in Red Dead Redemption 2. But anyways, this has thrown Redemption players into a wild goose chase, looking for the man out of time.

Is Michael a goddamn O’Driscoll? Say it ain’t so! At least I hope it’s not.

This one is my personal favorite pick for the easter egg. Not only does this familiar face not have any lines, but he’s also part of a religious cult in the game. To those that played GTA V thoroughly, you’ll see an even more uncanny resemblance to the strangers and freaks side mission.

Michael joining an altruistic society that he found online, guided by a former crackhead from GTA IV’s Lost and Damned story. Fun, right?

Safe to say Mr. Ned Luke’s twitter feed is gonna be quite full to the brim following this hunt. The actor himself also tweets out about the game every now and then, makes us wonder if he’s found himself yet. Or is he looking? Just like the rest of us. This also wouldn’t be the first time GTA and Redemption have crossed over either.

Since not only can you have John Marston as a father in GTA online, but you can also find a book written by J.Marston. Which could be a direct nod to John’s son, Jack. Who was an avid reader of books and most likely an aspiring writer.
