Take-Two, the publisher of Red Ded Redemption 2, has punished Trusted Reviews for leaking Red Dead Redemption 2 details. The site is owned by T1 Media which has agreed to pay 1 million pounds to a charity of Rockstar’s choosing.
The details were leaked back in February from an internal Rockstar document. Rockstar took action and forced Trusted Reviews to pay the money. In a statement provided to Variety, Take-Two stated that the company takes security very seriously.
Take-Two takes security seriously and will take legal action against people or publications who leak confidential information.
Because this situation involved information about Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games directed the settlement funds to these three great charities: the American Indian College Fund, the American Prairie Reserve, and the First Nations Development Institute.
Meanwhile, Trusted Reviews released an apology statement and vowed to never repeat such actions again.

Leaks are part of the industry but this is the first time we are seeing Take-Two take such a drastic measure to punish a video game website. Leaking the internal, confidential document ended badly for the website.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and could soon arrive on PC as well.
