Intel Claims i9 9900K Benchmarks Are Not Fake Or Misleading

The Intel i9 9900K has been announced and the team that was in charge of testing it have messed up pretty badly. In the tests, the AMD Ryzen CPUs were crippled in order to make the Intel i9 9900K benchmarks look better.

We have already got an official response from Principled Technologies regarding the matter and the company claims that it did not do anything shady. They are also doing some more  Intel i9 9900K benchmarks and will update their documents to show their new findings.

In response to Gamers Nexus, Intel made a statement and claimed that Principled Technologies did the benchmarking right and that Intel got the same results from the  Intel i9 9900K benchmarks when tested in the labs. This is very interesting indeed and you can check out the official response below:

We are deeply appreciative of the work of the reviewer community and expect that over the coming weeks additional testing will continue to show that the 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K is the world’s best gaming processor.Principled Technologies conducted this initial testing using systems running in spec, configured to show CPU performance and has published the configurations used. The data is consistent with what we have seen in our labs, and we look forward to seeing the results from additional third-party testing in the coming weeks.

Interestingly, this is not the only issue that Intel is facing right now when it comes to the i9 9900K. Asus has mentioned that Intel could have issues meeting the demand of the newly announced Z390 chipset. The following is what Jackie Hsu, VP and director at Asus had to say regarding the matter:

Ideally, this should take the most of the focus from Z370. However, based on the current Intel supply chain, we are afraid they cannot fulfill their customers’ demand so we still need to maintain a small supply of Z370 to fulfill our customers’ demand. I think that this is the plan we are going to stick to unless Intel can fulfill. But, until now, we haven’t got the confident answer saying they will fulfill.

Let us know what you think about the  Intel i9 9900K benchmarks that Intel has documented and whether or not you agree that these were misleading.
