One lucky man on Twitter who was playing Insomniac’s Spider-Man game recently got a look at just how accurate the Spider-Man map was when he realized that Spider-Man was on top of his apartment building, looking at the building just outside of it. That just shows how much work Insomniac put into it.
It’s already been common knowledge since the game came out that there’s a lot of easter eggs to see in the Spider-Man version of New York City, especially in Manhattan where the game is primarily based. However, that goes double if you’re a native New Yorker, such as in the aforementioned Tweet.
There’s already a lot of different shout-outs in the Spider-Man map, which includes things like the Avengers Tower, Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, Daredevil’s law office, the Wakandan embassy, and even Ben Parker’s grave. However, if you’re a native New York inhabitant and know where you live street-wise, you can likely end up like this fellow and realize just whereabouts you are in the city.
While sometimes it might seem hard to be able to find various notable buildings in Manhattan as you webswing around the city at high speeds, there’s always the chance that you might take time to either walk down the street or stop on a building to look around. After all, if you recognize what street you’re on there shouldn’t be any problem with finding your apartment building if you can recognize any landmarks.
Spider-Man has sold extremely well on its opening weekend and has gotten critical acclaim from both gamers and critics alike, so if you’ve been looking for a good superhero game that’s not related to Legos at all, the Insomniac Spider-Man game is likely your best bet. And who knows what you might see as part of the Spider-Man map.
