Cyberpunk 2077 Feels Similar to GTA 5
There is one thing that CD Projekt Red is known for and that is to make amazing games. Although they have only made The Witcher series so far, the series definitely has been held to critical acclaim. This is the first time when they are trying out a new IP and it will be amazing to see how the results are.
Not only that, Cyberpunk 2077 has had an immense amount of hype. It probably has been one of the most hyped up games of modern times and that is to be expected considering the reputation that Cyberpunk has.
Are there Any Similarities in the World?
The world of Cyberpunk is vastly different from The Witcher 3. First of all, it is set in the future and has given the players complete freedom for movement. This means that not only will there be a main storyline to follow but also a lot of side missions and other stuff for people to do. Sound familiar? That is because that is how GTA plays out.
Considering the monopoly that GTA has had on games like these, it is about time we had some competition and got to see how another famed studio does with an open-world sandbox game that is about blowing peoples’ head off and living without any rules.
A World without Limitations
You can literally do anything in Cyberpunk that you would be able to do in GTA. You can drive cars, shoot people, and generally have complete freedom. However, your actions will bear consequences and that is something that you will need to watch out for. It is important to remember that the game has been set in Night City and this is a place with a very rich history in the Cyberpunk universe.
The creator of the original Cyberpunk Tabletop game is actually guiding the studio to make sure the game stays true to its roots, yet we know that there is so much more freedom in an interactive video game that there will be some juicy changes for all players to see.
Is there Character Customization?
Let us talk about modification options. Cyberpunk has literally everything that you could possibly want to do. Not only will you be able to change the way that your character dresses but you will also be able to change intricate details such as the facial hair and even the gender.
This dense customization will probably carry on over to other avenues of the game such as the vehicles and the weapons which will definitely make for some very interesting combat.
You will also be able to change the physical and mechanical strengths of your main character to suit your liking. This is something different from GTA and seems to be taken straight from the RPG playbook. This is good as it will add a different dimension to the game and help it stand out rather than feel like a GTA clone set in a futuristic time.
What RPG Elements can I Expect?
Since the game will be a true RPG experience, there will be multiple different forms of damage and you will be able to upgrade or repair your weapons through the various different NPCs that are spread out along the world. There will also be hacking in the game that will add a different dimension to the storyline as you will be able to avoid combat if you want.
Essentially, the game tries to take the best bits from multiple games such as The Witcher, Mass Effect, GTA and tries to combine them in a single package which has a bit of everything.
You will also be able to buy apartments; pretty standard stuff! You will also have other ways to have fun such as unlocks and romance options. Essentially, this game is supposed to be like a second life for you.
It is supposed to be a fuller version of GTA that could be one of the greatest games ever released if it ends up working out. If it does not end up working out, then it could be a scandal on the scale of No Man’s Sky. A game with massive expectations that completely failed to deliver.
That is all we have for why we think Cyberpunk 2077 feels more like GTA than the Witcher. Let us know your thoughts using the comments section below!
