As it seems, the new Halo: The Master Chief Collection Update isn’t far from completion. 343 Industries hasn’t revealed any major news about the upcoming update on Xbox One X, however, an interesting bit has been made public today. When the update finally releases, it will allow you to download certain parts of the collection without having to download the whole game.
The Master Chief Collection Intelligent Delivery, the new custom download feature implemented in the new Halo: The Master Chief Collection Update will let you download either the multiplayer or campaign of the three games included: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4, as well as the campaign for Halo 3: ODST.
Apart from that, you’ll be able to set priority download for the part of the collection you want to try first since the new revamped version will need some time for it to be downloaded.
The news comes from Twitter where 343 Industries’ community chief Brian Jarrard shared a screenshot of Master Chief Collection Intelligent Delivery as an answer to a fan asking if he could remove portions of the game and keep the ones he likes playing. Here’s the screenshot:
In the comments section, Jarrard also revealed that the playlist setup is being changed so it’ll be per-game, vs. the cross-game options the collection has now. If you don’t have the correct content to play Halo 3, it’ll let you know and prompt you to install it or you won’t be able to join matchmaking for Halo 3. Also, according to Jarrard, a first version of the updated playlist may be available this week for feedback.
There’s still no release date for the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Update on Xbox One X, however, given the fact that features like the Intelligent Delivery are ready shows that its release won’t be long. We expect to see more of the Halo franchise next month at E3 2018.
