How NPCs React to Your Actions in Red Dead Redemption 2?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be the most painstakingly crafted title from Rockstar Games. The AI is one of the aspects that has received proper attention from Rockstar Games. According to recent impressions done by IGN, NPCs will react to your behavior like never before.

Gone are the days when you could have a rocket launcher in your hands in Rockstar titles and no one will bat an eye. There are a number of ways players can carry themselves in Red Dead Redemption 2.  You can get a positive response from NPCs when you are walking along with your gun holstered. People will come up to you and be very jovial and say Hi.

However, if you walk around with your pistol out (not even aiming at anyone) NPCs will consider you a threat so you will get a slightly different reaction out of them. NPCs will notice the fact that you are ready for a fight and will hesitate to come near you. In fact, the system goes deeper than people just being scared of you. They will actually retaliate if their deminer is such inclined.

Moreover, everyone you meet in Red Dead Redemption 2 will offer a contextual response and they will change on the fly. The system is pretty similar to Rockstar’s LA Noire, a popular game that never got a sequel but praised for its design.

NPC’s have unique personalities – some are brave and some are whips – so some will stand up to you while others you can rob without ever drawing your weapon.

Red Dead Redemption 2’s world interactions are complex, probably the most complex Rockstar has ever done. The game’s 1899 Wild West setting will have you in awe. On top of the complex interactions system, some completely new features are reportedly added to cater to a new audience. There are rumors of a Battle Royale mode called “Revive and Survive.”

Red Dead Redemption is releasing on PS4 and Xbox One later this year. Expect more information at E3 2018.
