Re-logic the developers of the original Terraria announced its sequel somewhat three years back and now they have canceled it. So for those who have been expecting Terraria Otherworld, you can kill your expectations.

As Re-Logic has recently announced that it has canceled the development of Terraria Otherworld.

After a very thorough analysis and a “very thorough status review of the game” with their partner developers 505/Pipeworks, they came to an understanding that there is still a lot of work to be done.

The game is very much away from the finish line than the company expected it to be. Working on it further will be a lost cause and the company is not ready to take that leap of faith.

Adding to that, according to the developers working further on the game will utilize a lot of energy and time, which will interfere with the Re-Logic’s other projects in work.

In easy words, Re-Logic is not that kind of a company which compromises the quality of the game for marketing purpose.

So apparently, the fans will have to make do with the original Terraria game, which did see a lot of success.

The original game sold more than 20 million copies around the world, and it even outsold some of the high-budgeted AAA titles.

Considering that the original game was a huge success, it is very odd for Re-Logic to let go of this title, especially at this point.

Terraria Otherworld would have proved to be equally successful. Well, perhaps we will never know now.

Terraria Otherworld was announced in February 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Although now the game has been officially canceled.
