Call of Duty Battle Royale Mode Tested in China

Call of Duty Online exclusive to China and it seems the Chinese audience is getting the Battle Royale love from Activision, Company tested a Call of Duty.

With the ongoing craze over Battle Royale modes, it was only a matter of time before Call of Duty was going to test the mode for itself. Activision has tested Call of Duty Battle Royale mode in China within its Call of Duty Online game.

For those who don’t know, Call of Duty Online is exclusive to China. Testing the mode in China makes sense as the biggest Battle Royale audience is from China who play PUBG, Fortnite, H1Z1, and the likes. Due to the small scale of traditional COD maps, Activision was only able to fit 18 players on the map.

The premise is very simple, players are dropped into the map with nothing on them. They pick up random weapons and try to be the last one standing.

Activision plans to bank on this mode in China and take of the audience of off PUBG and its peers. However, it is unlikely that PUBG community would drop the game in favor of Call of Duty Battle Royale.

For now, the COD Battle Royale is in beta and only a limited amount of people have access to it. There are going to be more details shared by the developers ahead of its release. It looks very polished so it shouldn’t take much time before the mode is out.

But the main question in our minds right now is when and if this mode will ever make it out of China? It could if fans show enough interest in a COD Battle Royale experience. It also depends on how successful this turns out to be in China.

For now, grab Fortnite or PUBG if you wish to experience the thrill of Battle Royale.
