Dark Souls is considered to be hardest and the best Dark Souls game in the franchise and with From Software moving away from the franchise following Dark Souls 3 it seems that the studio might be preparing to launch Dark Souls PS4 Remaster.
According to the Twitter user, Sassy, who posted a picture proof on his/her Twitter account suggesting that an online retailer has leaked Dark Souls PS4 Remaster. According to the leak, the PS4 remaster will launch on 24 May 2018.
However, the Twitter user notes that even if the game is being remastered for PS4, don’t expect details to be revealed soon.
It is important to note that this is just a leak and Bandai Namco or From Software are yet to announce the Dark Souls PS4 Remaster, so take it as a grain of salt.
However, From Software president, Hidetaka Miyazaki, did hint in an interview back in 2016 that while the series’ resurrection in the future is unclear, but fans will most likely see “HD Remakes” of older games in the series for new consoles.
With that being said, Dark Souls PS4 Remaster might be the first in line to come for current-gen consoles.
He added that Dark Souls 3 marks the end of the series as a whole. According to him, it is time for the team to move on from the franchise, however, he said that as a president he can’t deny the possibility of the return of the franchise.
I’m not completely denying the possibility of bringing back the franchise in the future. There could be someone else in my company who wants to work on new installments. But we believe that the series will end after the two DLC.
