Star Wars Battlefront 2 Will Be Getting More Offline Content As DLC

Criterion Games went on with an announcement about future DLC for Star Wars Battlefront 2 on a tweet as a response to a fan asking for offline content.

It seems that Star Wars Battlefront 2 is slightly shifting its character to a “more” single player experience than its predecessor was. After the success of The Last Jedi expansion, EA is reportedly changing plans for future DLC for the game. According to a tweet, the developers are changing their plans for the upcoming DLC due to demand they’d been hearing for more offline content.

The Last Jedi DLC is mainly focused on continuing the Star Wars Battlefront 2 campaign with the Ressurection mode. Criterion Games, one of the three developer teams currently working on the game, went on with the announcement about the future DLC on Twitter as a response to a fan asking for more offline content.

The response by Criterion Games reads:

We’ve already adjusted some of our plans for future DLC at Criterion because of the demand we’ve been hearing for more offline content since the game shipped. We’re working on what that content might be, but we’re certainly not deaf to what players are asking for more of.

This might also have something to with the microtransactions drama and the fact that the loot system that was intended to “boost” the online modes is now unavailable. Maybe a cosmetic loot system would be more appropriate if Star Wars Battlefront 2 is getting more offline content.

In related news, according to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Star Wars Battlefront 2 managed to sell only 882,000 physical copies in the United States for the first month of release. That is less than 50 percent of what the first Star Wars Battlefront installment managed a couple of years back with 2.1 million physical copies sold in the same period.

There’s still no word as to what those future DLC will contain but the Star Wars universe is getting so much bigger now, after The Last Jedi movie, that the developers have huge amounts of inspiration to draw from.
