Guillermo Del Toro Guesses That Death Stranding Gameplay Is Coming Soon

Guillermo Del Toro has guessed that Death Stranding gameplay will be coming out sometime soon before the game releases after two confusing trailers.

While Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game Death Stranding has had a pair of very odd trailers, there hasn’t been any sort of gameplay about it yet. However, Guillermo Del Toro, who is also working on the game has said that he believes that Death Stranding gameplay is going to be coming very soon.

Death Stranding is Hideo Kojima’s first project ever since his high-profile firing by Konami several years ago. Kojima has since been hired by Sony in order to make games for them, giving him complete creative freedom, and while it’s definitely not going to be Silent Hills, hopefully Death Stranding will be just as good.

Kojima had previously been working with Guillermo Del Toro, Norman Reedus, and horror manga artist Junji Ito to create what might have been the greatest Silent Hill game since the first few games, however Kojima’s firing by Konami led to the unceremonious cancellation of the game, much to the anger of a great many Silent Hill fans.

Kojima has previously stated that Death Stranding will be out before 2020, so hopefully we actually will be seeing Death Stranding gameplay sometime within the next year or two. With all of the buildup that’s been happening, plus all of the weird imagery and the inclusion of Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus in two major roles, hopefully the game will be everything that Silent Hills was going to be, and more.

Either way, we’ll likely see more of Death Stranding at some upcoming video gaming event, whether it’s the Video Game Awards in December or E3 over the summer, or even Gamescom next year or in 2019. If Death Stranding gameplay is revealed at all, it’ll likely be at some other form of major event.

Whenever it’s announced, whether it’s new Death Stranding gameplay or yet another incomprehensible trailer, hopefully Death Stranding will be amazing when it comes out.
