Insomniac Would Like To Develop A Sunset Overdrive Sequel But, The Studio Needs A Publisher For That
Gamers have been asking for a sequel to Sunset Overdrive for quite some time and developer Insomniac Games have time and again stated that it can happen if Microsoft wants it. Now the studio has said that they would develop a Sunset overdrive sequel but, they need a publisher for that.
While replying to a fan on Twitter who asked about Sunset Overdrive 2, the studio noted that they would love to develop Sunset Overdrive Sequel but, they need a publisher to back them up for the project. And if the Tweet is to be believed, it seems that Microsoft is not interested in the sequel.
Also, in another Tweet the studio was asked is the Sunset Overdrive is being enhanced for Xbox One X to which the studio stated that “nope, no plans on that front right now. Just playing the game cause Brandon was available and we wanted to have him over”.
Also, Insomniac Games has shown the willingness to port Sunset Overdrive to PC, however, the studio says that it not their decision to make as they need permission from Microsoft. But, according to Microsoft, PC version of Sunset Overdrive is not on the table.
Currently, Insomniac Games is working on the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game which the studio says to be several times larger than Insomniac Games.
Also, Marvel has explained the influence Batman Arkham games had on the upcoming Spider-Man title. Mike Jones, executive producer and vice president of Marvel Games, talked about Spider-Man PS4 and also hinted towards the influence of Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series on the upcoming Spider-Man PS4.
Furthermore, Insomniac Games has revealed that the upcoming PlayStation 4 game will not be an origin story.
Sunset Overdrive is an open-world action shooter developed by Insomniac Games exclusively for Xbox One.
