Fans of the Tomb Raider franchise are eager for the next entry and there have been reports and leaks regarding the upcoming Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, however, before the game is even announced, creative director at Crystal Dynamics has parted its way with the studio to join an indie studio.
Ian Milham announced through his Twitter account that he is stepping down from his position as the creative director at Crystal Dynamics and has accepted the position of Creative Director at Outpost Games which is an independent studio.
Outpost Games is the studio founded by Ian’s former colleagues at Visceral Games and the indie studio is currently working on a multiplayer survival game SOS. Ian joined Crystal Dynamics back in August 2016 before that he was with Visceral Games and was creative director on Battlefield Hardline.
He also added that his departure from Crystal Dynamics should not be taken as a negative for the upcoming Tomb Raider and its development and assured that players should be excited for the upcoming Tomb Raider.
Don’t infer anything about CD or Tomb Raider based on this, they’ve been awesome and people should be very excited by what’s coming.
Speaking of the Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics has not shown or shared much about the upcoming title but, earlier this year a concept art for the game leaked which suggests that the game might feature unique weapons like a machete and a spear. Also, the artwork is not specific enough to indicate where the game will be set.
Also, Rise Of The Tomb Raider is being enhanced for Xbox One X. Players will be able to choose from different resolutions including the native 4K, visuals will be enhanced for “stunning graphic upgrades”.
