PUBGs is currently the hottest thing in the PC gaming community with over 1.5 million concurrent users the game has surpassed even DOTA 2. PUBGs developer, Bluehole Studio, might not have been known before the game’s release but, now the studio is worth over $4 Billion.
As reported by Bloomberg, South Korean game developing studio, Bluehole, is worth 5.2 trillion won which is $4.6 Billion to be exact. According to the report, PUBGs developer Bluhole Studio’s worth is up five-fold in just three months. Bluehole Studio founder has also told Bloomberg that they are in talks with Sony to bring the game to PS4.
Epic Games is also introducing a PUBGs-like game mode to Fortnite which will also be free for everyone, however, Bluehole Studio is not amused by it as the studio fears that EPic Games is replicating their game.
We’ve had an ongoing relationship with Epic Games throughout PUBG’s development as they are the creators of UE4, the engine we licensed for the game. After listening to the growing feedback from our community and reviewing the gameplay for ourselves, we are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known.
Furthermore, the studio has confirmed that the development team is planning a PUBGs Ranked Game Mode along with other progression systems for maximum player engagement like leveling system for the players and weapons skill system and also added that these progression systems will not affect the gameplay.
The studio is also looking to make changes to the Blue Zone to make it fairer and also confirmed that more game optimizations will be implemented soon for the low-end systems.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a multiplayer survival game currently in early access for PC and will launch for consoles later.
