Brendan Greene Admires Rare’s Water Tech, Considering It for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

Branden Greene is condering working with Rare for its Water Tech to be used in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds soon.

Brendan Greene, the Player Unknown, is the creator of Battlegrounds which is the most popular PC game right now. The game had 1.2 million concurrent players on Steam, surpassing Dota 2 in the process. While it is the most popular PC game, it isn’t the most beautiful, graphically.

But that’s beyond the point as it isn’t supposed to be the best looking game out there. Still, developers are doing their best to get it up to par with modern day games. Brendan Greene recently spoke during an interview and stated that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is going to use Rare’s water tech.

Rare’s water tech is being used in Sea of Thieves. The quality of water in Sea of Thieves is one of the best we have seen in recent times. PlayerUnknown is considering a team up with Rare for its water tech, saying that it would finish off their game nicely.

And another thing is, I was at the Microsoft event last night talking to the Sea of Thieves guys. They said they loved the game, they play it a lot, but, ‘Oh, you’re water.’ I mean, our water is not very good, but Rare has great water tech. They said, ‘We should share some knowledge.’ That’s a great thing about being part of a network of studios. We can get that water tech, essentially for free, and we can share stuff with them. That’s just invaluable because their water is great. Having that would really finish off our world nicely.
