Sony Santa Monia gave us another look at the upcoming God Of War at E3 2017 and noted that the game will release in 2018. While the studio has already outlined multiple sequels for God Of War, there no specific release window announced for it. However, it seems that Amazon has leaked the God Of War release date.
According to NeoGaf user, IgotElbows, he/she has received an e-mail from Amazon which also mentions the God Of War release date. According to the user, the e-mail states that God of War will be available between July 5 and July 10, 2018.
However, the product page of the Amazon for God of War lists that the game will launch on June 30, 2018. This might indicate that the game has been slightly delayed or it is just a placeholder for the actual release date. Also, this is not the first time that an online retailer has mentioned a God of War release date as previously Amazon had listed the game to release in 2017.
In related news, Cory Barlog has assured that Atreus will be quite useful in the game and will be a competent companion since many fans were worried that the game will be like an escort mission and players will be constantly worried about Atreus.
Atreus moves on the battlefield on his own. He’s competent enough to get out of the way when he pulls the attention of the enemies. There’s a risk/reward system there. You can use him in battle but, if you do it too much, he could get overrun and knocked out.
Also, the game’s principal programmer Florian Strauss has revealed that the game will push PS4 to its limits for its physical based rendering.
God Of War is an upcoming action-adventure game in development at Sony Santa Monica Studio and will launch sometime in 2018 exclusively for PlayStation 4.
