Lawbreakers is an experience like no other, according to Dan Nanni, Lead Designer. Speaking with Segmentnext, Nanni mentioned that their game is not trying to be a remake of something that is already out, it is its own thing.

Lawbreakers is an upcoming multiplayer-only shooter that is releasing on PC. The game offers unique class-based action and Boss Key’s gravity gameplay adds verticality that is unique to Lawbreakers. When asked about how the game is different from the likes of Quake Champions and Overwatch, Dan Nanni explained that entire experience sells the uniqueness of Lawbreakers, all modes are created to compliment the low-gravity feature.

Our gravity gameplay adds verticality to shooters in a whole new way, our roles play with class-tropes and flip them upside down, our game modes tease you with something familiar and then twist it up with nail-biting conclusions.

It’s the entire experience combined together that really sells the uniqueness of LawBreakers. All of the modes were built to support the roles, and all of the roles were built to play with low gravity, and all of our gravity mechanics were built to be manipulated by the roles. Everything was created to work as an entire experience, and it’s an experience like no other game.

We also spoke about delivering the lore and according to Nanni, they are still finalizing different ways but players will be able to know about character backgrounds and the world of Lawbreakers via “in-game through VO, account portrait descriptions and narrative scattered throughout the maps.”
