Next Halo and Gears of War Teased as “Wonderful” By Phil Spencer

Next Halo and Gears of War are "wonderful things" according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer. Both games are still far off from reveal.

Next Halo and Gears of War games are yet to be confirmed but both projects could already be in development. Phil Spencer recently visited Halo developer 343i and Gears of War developer The Coalition to check out what they were working on.

Phil Spencer took a look at the projects these studios are working on and according to him, he has seen some “wonderful things.” Microsoft is not known for supporting new IPs lately so it is safe to say both of its leading studios are working on the next iterations of Halo and Gears of War.

However, it has already been confirmed that Halo 6 won’t be shown anytime soon. 343i would take their time with the next Halo game. Speaking through a post on Halo Waypoint, writer Jeff Easterling said:

While there’s little to nothing that can be said on that front, it’s been made clear that we won’t be talking about Halo’s next major title for quite some time. And no, that doesn’t mean Gamescom. Or PAX. Trust us, when we’re ready to begin pulling back that proverbial curtain, you’ll know. It won’t be soon.

Meanwhile, Synergy 88 accidentally mentioned Gears of War 5 and stated that it is around the corner. The game might be announced sooner than expected. Gears of War 4 kicked off a new trilogy so the next chapter won’t be too far off.

Next Halo and Gears of War should give a decent boost to Xbox One X, don’t you think? Let us know what improvements would you like to see in the next installments.
