Gears of War 4 Double XP Weekend Coming To Make Up For Server Issues

The Coalition has announced that a new Gears of War 4 double xp weekend event will begin soon while dev playlist for new dlc gets extended

A few days ago, The Coalition released the Onyx Gold Gear pack for Gears of War 4 and earlier today, they have announced that a Gears of War 4 double xp weekend is up next.

Originally, the Onyx Gold Gear pack was available only to season pass owners as part of the developer playlist in the game. A release for the public playlist was scheduled for tomorrow.

However, earlier today, the developers announced that the developer playlist will be extended and a Gears of War 4 double xp weekend event will be added in the game for the upcoming weekend.

Since the launch of the game, servers have been a bit spotty but the good thing is that The Coalition is quick to fix them, at least for the time being, and usually ends up rewarding the players with Gears of War 4 double xp weekend events.

For those who don’t want to spend any real money on the game, these weekends are the best way to earn some cards in game in order to further customize their play sessions.

Since the Onyx Gold Gear pack went up in the game, servers have had some trouble which is why the developers have announced this weekend to make up for the trouble.

The forum post regarding the server trouble mentions:

Currently we are looking at swapping over things in the back end to do the following
– Stop processing past events and only process new ones (So new games only)
– We will do some work early next week to process these in a separate queue outside and they will be awarded once completed in their separate queue

There is no word on exactly when the Gears of War 4 double xp weekend event begins and ends but hopefully more information will be shared soon.
