Nintendo NX reveal is set for this week via Nintendo Direct, according to SuperMetaldave64. The console/handheld hybrid has been in the news for a while without any official word regarding its specs or shape. But SuperMetaldave64 mentioned that NX is right around the corner.

Once again, take it with a grain of salt as there is no official confirmation of any kind for the time being. Nintendo NX reveal, according to other rumors, it set for early October. We’ll have to wait and see how things go.

In other Nintendo NX news, Wall Street Journal recently ran a report claiming that NX is using certiges. The news follows a similar report from Eurogamer.

Industry watchers say that cartridges are indeed a reasonable choice for Nintendo’s next generation gaming platform as the company targets a wider range of consumers than Sony or Microsoft.

Sony and Microsoft have already revealed their new console models that will sit alongside current-gen hardware. PlayStation 4 Pro will be out this year while Project Scorpio is hitting shelves next year.

Nintendo would need to play its cards right with NX or risk another major hit in the console space. The company is focused on not repeating past mistakes which is a very positive sign.
