As expected, Microsoft Studios commenced its E3 2016 media briefing by showing off the all new Xbox S and a new gameplay demo of the upcoming Gears of War 4.
One of the best things about the upcoming Gears of War 4 by The Coalition is that it is one of the first games to take advantage of Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere program. In addition to this, this is one of the first game that will be available on the newly announced Xbox One S with HDR capabilities.
As a part of Xbox Play Anywhere program, you will be able to play Gears of War 4 for both on Microsoft Windows 10 and Xbox One. There is absolutely no need to buy the same game twice as you will be able to play once bought game both on Xbox One and Microsoft Windows 10.
In addition to this, Microsoft also announced that the game will feature cross-play between Xbox One and Microsoft Windows 10. During a co-op gameplay demo, we saw some brand new footage of the game.
Gears of War 4 will not only bring forth iconic weapons like Lancer back into the game, but a plethora of new weapons and executions. I personally loved the weapon with deflecting bullets, allowing players to continue to eliminate enemies without ever having to leave their cover.
However, the highlight of the show was definitely the confirmation that Marcus Fenix from the original trilogy will be in Gears 4. Last but not the least, Microsoft has also announced Gears of War Special Edition Wireless Elite Controller which will be available alongside the game. It is a pretty neat controller which Gears of War veteran fans will definitely enjoy getting their hands on.
Finally, before closing down, Microsoft and The Coalition also announced the game’s finalized release date. You will be able to get your hands on Gears of War 4 on Oct. 11, 2016 exclusively for Microsoft Windows 10 and Xbox One console.
