The Star Wars: Battlefront 2 story may be a lot better than many people think when it comes out this November, after news has come up that it will be penned by Walt Williams, who is best known for writing the story of Spec Ops: The Line and will be working here too.
Spec Ops: The Line tells the story of a group of Delta Force operatives who are sent into Dubai after a massive sandstorm ravages the city.
While there, your character, Captain Martin Walker, must attempt to hold on to his principles and his sanity as the situation gets more and more desperate to the point where you’re not even sure of what’s real anymore.
While Spec Ops: The Line got a middling reception for its cover-based third-person gameplay, its story, which brings attention not only to the horrors of war but desensitization towards it through shooter games (asking you things like “Do you feel like a hero yet?” in loading screens after you do things like hit a refugee camp with white phosphorous), won a great deal of praise.
The Star Wars: Battlefront 2 story mode deals with Inferno Squad, a squad of elite stormtroopers that fight for the Galactic Empire following the events of the Battle of Endor, where the Second Death Star was destroyed and Emperor Palpatine was killed by Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.
With all of the new content that Battlefront 2 will be getting, including all three eras of the Star Wars movies, more planets, more heroes, and more, the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 story mode will only be a small part of what will hopefully be an amazing game.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be releasing November 17 for the Xbox One, the Playstation 4, and the PC, so you’ve still got another few months before we’ll be going to bigger and better places with the new game.
