Fans of the first Prey video game are quite excited for the upcoming Prey reboot and Arkane Studios has been revealing new details about the game. Now the developers have revealed how much time will take for players to end the game and also confirmed multiple ending for Prey.
Speaking with Twinfinite, lead designer Ricardo Bare revealed that they have done a lot of playtests for Prey and the game takes around 16 to 22 hours to complete. However, he noted that it may vary depending on players’ play style.
With all the games like this that we work on, the amount of time varies widely depending on the style of the player but we’ve done a lot of playtests with people, and typically play times clock in around 16 to 22, 20 hours.
He also confirmed that Prey will have multiple endings and it will all depend on the players’ choice regarding the space station and the characters that are still alive.
Without giving you spoilers, I would describe the endings as essentially two main branches. You’re gonna be making some pretty big decisions about the space station and the people aboard the space station. But then within those main branches, there are tons of permutations, and a lot of it has to do with what you did and how you treated survivors that you encounter.
Recently, the studio confirmed that Prey reboot will not have nay boss fights because how the AI works, the normal enemies [Telepaths] feel like mini bosses. The devs explained that Telepaths typically own an area and has influence over humans in that area and Humans are quite interesting as they are aware of their own slavery to this enemy.
Prey is an upcoming first-person shooter in development at Arkane Studios and will launch on May 5, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
