Possible New Assassin’s Creed Setting Hinted At in Rainbow Six: Japan?

A possible new Assassin's Creed setting has been hinting at a Japanese game through a Rainbow Six: Siege outfit that a Redditor was able to spot.

One sharp-eyed Redditor has pointed out an interesting addition to one of the custom outfits in Rainbow Six Siege, mainly a rather familiar symbol from Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series. With the new addition, it’s possible that we may be seeing a possible new Assassin’s Creed setting set in Japan in the future.

Considering its association with ninjas and assassins, fans of the series have been clamoring for an Assassin’s Creed game set in Asia for a long time. Though we had a shorter game set in China in the form of Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles, along with a short mention of the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins in the short film Assassin’s Creed: Embers (whose deuteragonist Shao Jun was also the main character in the Chinese section of Chronicles), most Assassin’s Creed games have been confined to Europe.

We did get a couple of amused jabs at a possible new Assassin’s Creed setting in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, where various emails sent between Abstergo bigwigs in the game’s real-life sections (with said bigwigs saying that an Assassin’s Creed game set in China or Japan being too cliche) but considering the possibilities of ninjas, complicated Imperial court politics, and huge Sengoku-era battles, a Japanese Assassin’s Creed game has a lot of potential.

Plus, it might be a good time to get the Assassin’s Creed games out of Europe and into a period of history that isn’t covered in most history classes in the West; with the large number of Assassin’s Creed games that have already taken place in Europe and Revolutionary America, it would be nice to go east for once, instead of West.

Hopefully what this Redditor uncovered is actually true, and the possible new Assassin’s Creed setting actually will make the game take place in Japan, because I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that would enjoy that.
