The sequel to the game, Star Wars Battlefront 2, is confirmed for holiday 2017 release and will be bigger than the 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront, featuring more locations and hero characters. EA has already confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will feature a single-player campaign and during the recent earnings call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson added that the game will feature “multiple Star Wars eras”.
During the earning’s call, he specifically called out to The Force Awakens and Rogue One films but did not confirm that locations or characters from these movies will be added to the game.
However, that is not the only Star Wars game in development, as Visceral Games is also developing an action-adventure Star Wars title. Former uncharted director, Amy Hennig, will be directing the game. According to Amy, the new Star Wars game will be spiritually similar to Uncharted series. She insisted that it won’t be “Star Wars uncharted” and said that it is an important distinction to be made.
She explained that in Uncharted players will not see the game cutting away to show the villain’s point of view, it is a third person game but players are always following the protagonist like Indiana Jones movies.
The new Star Wars game from Visceral Games will be an action adventure title and is speculated to launch in 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
