Resident Evil 7 Producer Reveals The Secret For Good Scares

Resident Evil 7 producer, Masachika Kawata, revealed that there are different factors that account for a real sense of horror.

Resident Evil is one of the most scariest game franchises in the industry. While the series had lost its mojo for last few games, Capcom intends to return to its roots with Resident Evil 7, and now Masachika Kawata has revealed his secret to make a good scary game.

Speaking with OPM UK, Resident Evil 7 producer, Masachika Kawata, revealed that there are different factors that account for a real horror and every single one of them has to come together.

You need to create situations that combine aspects of shock and surprise with the instinctive fear we all feel for the unknown. Dark rooms that make you fear the possible enemies lurking within, shock scenes like creatures suddenly bursting through windows…Each little moment adds up to a really good, scary experience.

Recently, Resident Evil 7 demo got an update that included a new area, but it seems that Capcom is not yet done with the demo. According to Kawata, the developers plan to update the demo for PlayStation 4, so that players can try other aspects of the game. He also revealed that developers would like to bring the demo to other platforms as well.

He also revealed that Resident Evil 7 will not feature any online mode, as the developers’ focus is horror and the best horror can only be experienced alone.

While Resident Evil 7 will be playable in PlayStation VR, but the game will be an one year exclusive to PS VR before it will be available for other VR headsets.

Resident Evil 7 is a survival horror game in development at Capcom and the game is scheduled to launch on January 24, 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
