How to Fix Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Errors Crashes and Related Problems
#1 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Disk Write Error
If you are getting this error, first thing you need to make sure is that you have sufficient space on your hard drive. If that’s not the case, try installing the game in any other partition (D: or E:). If you are using an external drive and also have an internal hdd, try installing the game in that hard drive.
If nothing fixes the issue, you should run chkdsk scan of your hard drive to remove any errors their might be.
#2 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Can’t Select Directx 12
It’s not a bug or an error as developers have already announced that the directx 12 support will come at a later date. So we will have to wait for that.
#3 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Black Screen in Full Screen
If you are getting a black screen in full screen mode, try switching to windowed mode by pressing Alt+Tab. Visible now? If yes, you should try adjusting the resolution of your game to the one of your desktop or vice versa. This should resolve the issue. If that doesn’t work, try using 60hz refresh rate for you screen if you are using higher. It goes without saying that your drivers should be up to date.
#4 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Game Crashes on Startup
If your Day One DLC is downloading in the background, either you should uncheck it from Steam or let it download completely. Either way, you will be able to play the game just fine. Also, make sure that your GPU drivers are up to date.
#5 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Stuck at 87%
If restarting Steam and a router restart hasn’t helped you, you should try to change your download region. This usually fixes the stuck download issue. Once the download is complete, you can switch back to your default region.
#6 Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Performance Issues
If your system is good enough and you are still getting performance issues like low fps, there are a few things you should try after making sure that your drivers are up to date. First, if you are using an SLI or crossfire, try disabling as early reports are indicating that the game isn’t working great with multi-card setup.
Also, the MSA setting in the options seems to be eating up a lot of resources so you should try disabling that too. If you are running any third party applications in the background (like any recorder etc), try disabling them.

Many users are reporting that if the crash is occurring after a few startup screens, you should update your drivers to the ones recommended for the game. This should resolve the crashing issue for you.
