Dragon Quest is one of the most popular franchises for Square Enix, and the most recent game in the franchise is Dragon Quest Builders. This popular action role playing game was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, but there is a possibility that it might make its way to Nintendo NX.
Speaking with Dualshockers at Gamescom 2016, Dragon Quest Series Producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto revealed that Square Enix is considering to port Dragon Quest Builders for Nintendo NX. He also mentioned that Square Enix is aware of that Nintendo’s player base and Dragon Quest are compatible with each other.
He did not provide any further details, and it is yet unknown that if Dragon Quest Builder would make its way to Nintendo NX or not, but the team behind the game is considering the possibility.
He further added given that Dragon Quest Builders is family oriented game, so in that aspect it could be a very lucrative decision.
In related news, recently Dragon Quest X Producer Yosuke Saito and Director Chikara Saito gave an update on the development of the game. The devs confirmed that Dragon Quest X is in development for Nintendo NX along with the PlayStation 4 version of the game.
Dragon Quest X already has three versions of it and currently the game is in version 3.3 in Japan. A version 4 of the game is also in development alongside with new content for version 3, and no specific details were shared about the version 4 of the game.
Dragon Quest Builders is set in Alefgard, the same world of the first Dragon Quest game. The game tasks players to rebuild the world after it was destroyed by an evil Dragonlord.
