New Bandai Namco IP To Be Revealed At Gamescom, Aimed at Western Audience

Bandai Namco IP

Bandai Namco has announced its line-up for Gamescom 2016 a few hours ago. Two of the biggest games announced for the show are Tekken 7 and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Just those two games will do fine to satiate impatient fans. Personally, I’m looking forward to Xenoverse 2 as I’m a huge Dragon Ball fan. What’s interesting; however, is a listing for a brand new Bandai Namco IP. It seems Bandai Namco isn’t ready to talk about this new IP yet, only saying that it’s aimed at western audiences.

Mysteries are always interesting and Bandai Namco sure knows how to tease. As a result of this, Fans will no doubt start wild speculations.

Additionally, one thing to keep in mind is that this Bandai Namco IP might not be developed by the studio at all. Bandai Namco also publishes games in North America and Europe. Fans don’t have much to go on other than that vague comment. Bandai Namco remains tight lipped for now.

Bandai Namco produces Dragon Ball, Digimon, Naruto Ultimate Ninja, Souls series and Tekken. Originally two different studios, Namco and Bandai merged. In early 2005, Namco Ltd. and Bandai Co. Ltd. announced plans to combine their operations. The merger took effect on September 29 of that same year and so both companies came under the umbrella of the newly created Bandai Namco Holdings.

Just last month, Bandai Namco filed trademarks for domain names “Little Nightmares”, “Children of Maw”, and “Grim Lullabies”. These domain names could be a good place to start speculating. At any rate, Gamescom starts August 17, so exactly one month away.

It’d be safe to bet that rumors and leaks will start rolling a bit before Gamescom comes around. If that happens, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date.
