Mighty No. 9 Delayed..Again, Wait Till December 2 (Update)
Update: Xbox has confirmed that Xbox Store admin posted inaccurate information on the website; meaning Mighty No. 9 is still expected in Spring 2016.
Originally Store: Mighty No. 9 is delayed yet again if the game’s listing on Xbox Store is to be believed. The store mentions a December 2 release date but we were expecting a Spring release.
Mighty No. 9 was originally expected to release in April 2015 but was delayed to September than to February 2016 before being delayed again to Spring of this year. Now the store listing mentions a December release. Reasons for its last delay was bugs and issues within the game:
The reason for the delay is rooted in bugs inside the network modes, and specifically problems with matchmaking.
There are two large reasons for this problem, one of them being the large number of platforms supported (the solution for each platform is slightly different) and the other stems from the fact that the engine we are using is no longer being updated which means adjustments for matchmaking and online code are being made manually (actually reprogramming parts of the engine by the dev team themselves).
Unfortunately, this is all a result of miscalculations on the part of us, the development staff.
Are they still not able to sort out these problems? Should they still shift development to a different engine? Mighty No. 9 devs are yet to confirm this but it sure won’t be surprising at this point to learn of another delay.
Mighty No.9 was put on kickstarter a long time ago, 67,226 backers pledged $3,845,170 to bring this project to life. However, it is possible that it may never see the light of day.
This is a developing story, we will update the article as soon as something new comes up.
