The Witcher 3 has Most GOTY Awards Ever at 251, TLOU Beaten

After GDC 2016, The Witcher 3 has become the game with maximum GOTY awards ever at 251, surpassing TLOU which had 249 GOTY awards.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of the recent seasons, but did you know that it has finally beaten every other game in terms of Game of the Year Awards?

Previously, The Last of Us was at number one with a massive 249 GOTY Awards to its name given by publications and organizations all over the globe, but now CD Projekt Red has managed to surpass them by two. Geralt’s latest now has 251 Game of the Year Awards to its name.

This was made possible by the Game Developers Conference 2016 Awards that have been doled out recently.

The fact that The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is the game with most GOTY Awards ever is still exciting despite the fact that we know what the game has to offer, primarily because of the large list of amazing games that it has surpassed.

Only a couple of days ago, CD Projekt Red had also revealed that the total number of awards that have been won by their game (including all types) was well over 800!

There is hardly any doubt that the game was the best release of 2015 and we sure that the upcoming expansion, Blood and Wine is certainly going to make it worth the while even more.

Talking of, there are rumors that Blood and Wine is going to be released sometime next month on April 26, 2016. However, the developers are yet to confirm this.
