Today Hi-Rez Studios have announced details for the SMITE PlayStation 4 Open Beta test. Though if you want to get on the Closed Beta, there are still way to get access.
While SMITE is still in Closed Beta at the moment, Hi-Rez Studios will be opening it up on March 22 to further stress test their servers. They also revealed that this is part of the game’s 2nd Birthday celebrations. So expect plenty of giveaways and sales in the coming weeks.
If you want to get access to the game before March 22 be sure to check out their Social Media where they’ll be giving away Beta Codes to allow for more access. Having played the Closed Beta, the build is worth checking and out giving a try.
SMITE’s growth since it first appeared on the scene has been impressive, making people question if it could compete against League of Legends and DOTA 2. With its moving to console, this will further its potential in that respect.
The game features over 70 playable gods and mythological creatures from eight different pantheons around the world. First released on PC in 2014 it then moved onto Xbox One before hitting Closed Beta on PlayStation 4 last week. Now with the release of the SMITE PlayStation 4 Open Beta it is moving closer to its official release.
It will be interesting to see how well the free-to-play game will do during the Open Beta phase and how accepted these type of games are on console. If SMITE proves to be a success, will it see more games of this type move to consoles?
