Xbox One players looking for a dose of nostalgia will be in luck in the coming months, as it has been revealed that a large number of Xbox 360 games will soon be available to play on Xbox One’s backwards compatibility function.
These games include a large number of hit games such as Bastion, Bayonetta, BioShock Infinite, the first two Crackdown games, both Marvel Ultimate Alliance games, the remaining two Mass Effect games, Resident Evil 5, Saint’s Row IV, Soul Calibur V, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Super Street Fighter II HD Remix, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Bomberman Live, and Skate 3.
These are only some of the 44 new games that are going to be coming to Xbox One’s backwards compatibility section soon. These will add to the 136 games that are already available, and will bring the total of Xbox One backwards compatibility games to 180.
Xbox One’s backwards compatibility function was first announced at E3 2015. The Playstation 4 also announced backwards compatibility last November, though before that it had also had the Playstation Now service.
The PS Now service allowed older Playstation games from older consoles to be played on the PS4, but unlike the Xbox One’s service, that required an Internet connection and a fee to access.
On the other hand, Xbox One backwards compatibility games are much cheaper and only require the payment to buy, which range from 30 to 15 dollars depending on the game.
Other games that have reached the list are Just Cause 2, Halo: Reach, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and Beyond Good and Evil. But if you own the game already, there won’t be any charges.
While these games have not been released yet, they are adding a great deal more entertainment value to the Xbox One’s game library and the Xbox 360’s staying power this generation.
