According to sales data for Japan that has been shared for the week between December 21 – December 27 by Famitsu, the PS4 was in for a competition with not only Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U but also PlayStation Vita.
Not only that, the sales statistics reveal that the PlayStation Vita managed to beat the PlayStation 4 in terms of sales! Here is a rundown on the hardware sales figures, you can compare them with the last week’s sales that we have provided in brackets next to it:
- 3DS – 160,447 (147,688)
- Wii U – 101,122 (80,301)
- PS Vita – 66,069 (46,182)
- PS4 – 60,330 (49,634)
- PS3 – 3,459 (2,381)
- Xbox One – 479 (446)
We have also listed the top 20 games for the week below alongside the number of copies they sold in the week as well as the total sales generated by these games in their lifetime (see brackets). As expected, most of the titles are for the 3DS and the Wii U with Fallout 4, Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition, Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs-Force and TV Anime Idolm@ster: Cinderella Girls G4U! Pack Vol. 7 being the only ones for platforms other than these.
