If Akio Otsuka, a voice actor who performs the role of Solid Snake and Big Boss is to be believed, Kojima Productions has met its end; the studios might have been disbanded!
Akio Otsuka is known for the tons of roles that he has voiced in dozens of videogames including Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain and numerous other MGS titles.
He is almost a regular for Kojima Productions and that is the reason why his comments on the matter are being given importance.
However, believing everything he has allegedly revealed would mean that internal problems actually forced Hideo Kojima’s studio to be dissolved. Here’s a translation:
Kojima Productions was forced to disband, but it appears that the work that the team has been putting their utmost effort into is nearly complete. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I expect it will become their greatest masterpiece. I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to say ‘Kept you waiting, huh?’ (Laughs). But even if this is the end, Metal Gear Solid is immortal!
Kojima Productions’ alleged turmoil has been in the news for a while now, we had first heard rumors of Hideo Kojima’s departure from the development studio in March, after which their logo was removed from Silent Hills’ website.
Sometime later a voice actress for MGS claimed that Kojima had been fired from studio for which she later apologized.
So yeah, a lot has been stirring in light of which we can’t simply ignore the voice actor’s claim for not being the official word on the matter.
We are still not sure what is going on with Kojima Productions as the developers, including Hideo Kojima have probably kept things quiet so that it does not affect Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain release which is scheduled for September 1.
