Mortal Kombat X Will Feature More Realistically Proportioned Women

Mortal Kombat X will feature female characters that will look more like real life women in terms of their body. We often see video games portraying women with an unrealistic proportion and overly sexualized figure. Specifically, games like Dead or Alive in attempt to make female characters more sexually attractive, go for a more unrealistic body proportion.

With Mortal Kombat X, that will change as female characters will apparently be more realistic:

The mantra for this game has always been realism; heading towards a more realistic look,” NetherRealm’s production manager Spiro Anagnostakos said. “So the same thing applies to the proportions where we try to bring things back in per se to where they should be.

To give us a better idea of what Neatherealms is talking about, Anagnostakos shared a new character model which you can see above. The model belongs to a popular fighter Kitana, who have been a part of Mortal Kombat universe for a long time. She was last seen in Mortal Kombat 2011 and if you played the game, you’ll see a lot has changed.

In addition, the developer revealed a new character model for Scorpion and announced that Jade won’t be a part of Mortal Kombat X.

Mortal Kombat X is heading to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on April 14.
