Dead Space 3 Weapons Crafting Guide – Recipes and Weapon Parts

Dead Space 3 weapons crafting recipes, tips and info on weapon parts to craft the devastating weapons of the game.

Dead Space 3 has a new layer of gameplay added to it by the developers and that is the ability to craft your weapons by finding resources. It seems, Isaac has finally decided to put his engineering to work and make life a little easier for us.

You can either be the craftsman yourself to join parts to make your very own lethal weapon or you can use the preset weapon builds. If you are enthusiast, go for custom crafting. If you want to keep it casual, use the presets available in the game.

Dead Space 3 Weapons Crafting

To create custom weapons, you need a work bench. However, in order to create them you need to have all the required parts. Remember, using custom parts you can create totally original weapons with unique stats.

Let’s talk about the about Custom Crafting. You need four main items to craft these weapons and they can be classified into four different categories; Frames, Tools, Tips and Attachments.

Weapon Parts – Frames

Frames are the foundation of the weapon. They tell you what other components are compatible with them and how much parts you can add to your custom weapon. There are two types of frames:

  • Compact Elite Frame: used for one handed and mobile weapons.
  • Heavy Elite Frame: used for heavy weaponry. Carried by both hands and can have heavier modules mounted on it.

Weapon Parts – Tools

Tools are the components of the weapon that are mounted on the rear or upper part of the frame. Tools decide how much elemental damage your weapon will do.

  • Electrocution Module: This emits electricity from your weapon.
  • Explosive Module: Can be used to make a small explosive.
  • Hydraulic Engine: It increases the user’s physical and kinetic force. You can end a necromorphs charge even killing it with one hit.
  • Military Engine: It can be used with semi auto, fully auto with wide or small spread, precision sniper and shotguns.
  • Plasma Core: It fires plasma ray for construction and engineering needs. You can use it on two handed frame to make contact beam.
  • Pneumatic Torch: When used on a single handed frame it is effective in long-mid range combat. On a two handed frame, it is devastating but only in a short range.
  • Rip Core: It creates cut blades which can be replaced by using the tool’s internal Nano forge.
  • Survey Charge: Can be used to create explosives for mining. Furthermore, it can be used to make tripwires, rocket launchers and canister bombs launcher.
  • Telemetry Spike: Fires a single spear for mining and scouting requirements. Moreover, it can be assembled with explosive modules to make precision placed explosives.
  • Tesla Cores: Depending on the tip there can multiple functionalities of this tool. You can make lightning bolts and electrical bolas with Tesla Cores. There are different types of bolts and bolas you can make. Each has different properties and functions.

Weapon Parts – Tips

These are the part of the weapon from which the fire of the weapon emits. Different tips can have different effect on the same tool.

  • Compact Directed Ejection Field: It can be used to focus ejection of solid, liquids and plasmas.
  • Compressor: It causes fire to come out in a more condensed and stream lined form.
  • Conic Dispersal: Used to make fire come out in a wider pattern.
  • Default Tip: It fires raw energy of the tool.
  • Diffraction Torus: Fire from your weapon expands once it collides with something.
  • Directed Ejection Field: It is a laser counterpart of the Compact Direction Ejection Field.
  • Directed Suspension Field: It is used to suspend projectiles. Furthermore, it can be used to nerf down great engines.
  • Precision Tip: It focuses projectile energy and shots.
  • Rail Accelerator: Tosses energy and object nearly at the speed of light.
  • Attachments: These are the extra perks your weapon can have but only if you have enough upgrades circuit free.
  • Acid Bath: Your fire is covered in acid. Matter in contact slowly gets eaten away.
  • Ammo Box: It extends the ammo reserve of your weapon.
  • Ammo Supp: It increases the weapon’s magazine size for you and your partner.
  • Ammo sweeper: Automatically collects dropped ammunition around you.
  • Damage Supp: It increases the damage of both you and your partner’s weapons.
  • Electric Charge: It introduces a small zap to your every projectile.
  • Explosive Amplifier: It amplifies the magnitude of your explosions caused by your explosives.
  • Flame Glaze: It causes your projectiles to be covered in fire.
  • Stasis Amplifier: It increases the stasis effect of the tools which emit that kind of energy.
  • Stasis Coating: Your projectiles are coated with a small stasis field.

Custom Weapon #1

  • Frame – Heavy Frame (2 handed)
  • Upper Tool – Military Engine
  • Upper Tool Tip – Compressor
  • Lower Tool – Survey Charge
  • Lower Tool Tip – Default
  • Attachment 1 – Scope
  • Attachment 2 – Explosion Amplifier

It’s a rifle with an under slung grenade launcher. Nothing beats a combination of AK 47 and grenades. This one is for the entire FPS purist out there. The compressor causes more damage while the grenade launcher is an effective way of crowd control. Furthermore, the added scope will give you more aiming range.

Custom Weapon #2

  • Frame – Heavy Frame (2 handed)
  • Upper Tool – Military Engine
  • Upper Tool Tip – Conic Dispersal
  • Lower Tool – Hydraulic Engine
  • Lower Tool Tip – Default
  • Attachment 1 – Flame Glaze
  • Attachment 2 – Ammo Support

It’s another weapon for the entire FPS purist out there. A good old solid pump action shotgun! The flame glaze attachment gives your ammo that extra oomph. The hydraulic engine can be used to give enemies near you a good powerful whack instead of bullets.

Due to the flame glaze attachment even your melee attack causes fire damage. Furthermore, the conic tips make sure that this gun is even more effective at short range by dispersing the bullets in a wider pattern. Especially useful when surrounded by enemies.

Custom Weapon #3

  • Frame – Heavy Frame (2 handed)
  • Upper Tool – Survey Charge
  • Upper Tool Tip – Directed Suspension Field
  • Lower Tool – Survey Charge
  • Lower Tool Tip –Directed Suspension Field
  • Attachment 1 – Explosive Amplifier
  • Attachment 2 – Safety Guard

It’s a doubled barreled ROCKET LAUNCHER. Need I say more? It can fire both barrels at one time and kill most necromorphs with one shot! The explosive amplifier attachment provides a bigger radius for your explosions while the safety guard prevents you from taking any splash damage.

Custom Weapon #4

  • Frame – Heavy Frame (2 handed)
  • Upper Tool – Telemetry Spike
  • Upper Tool Tip – Diffraction Torus
  • Lower Tool – Survey Charge
  • Lower Tool Tip –Directed Ejection Field
  • Attachment 1 – Ammo Sweeper
  • Attachment 2 – Ammo Support

It’s a light machine gun with detonator mines. It’s a gun with very high ammo capacity and very quick rate of fire. However, it only does moderate damage. The mines can be strategically placed for defending against waves of enemies. All in all, it’s a very good suppressor weapon.

Custom Weapon #5

  • Frame – Heavy Frame (2 handed)
  • Upper Tool – Telemetry Spike
  • Upper Tool Tip – Diffraction Torus
  • Lower Tool – Plasma Core
  • Lower Tool Tip –Default tip
  • Attachment 1 – Stasis Coating
  • Attachment 2 – Stasis Amplifier

It’s a combination of rail gun and chain gun. Each shot is meant to slow down your enemies. It should be enough to get all you people started. Besides this there are tons of pre-set weapons in the game already.
