Samsung Looking to get Into Videogames?

Japanese tech site SGAME recently got ahold of some information pointing toward Samsung's intent to get into the videogame industry.

According to the Japanese tech site SGAME, it looks like Samsung may be next to throw their hat into the gaming ring. SGAME reported Samsung sent out notifiers to its affiliate companies about looking into “the game industry ‘frontier’.”

The Japanese publication also said Samsung was now hiring videogame developers to begin making its first-party games.

Samsung itself denied these rumors, but that in itself doesn’t mean it’s not true. We all know how these companies play their strategies close to the chest until its time to show their cards.

If Samsung is getting ready to launch an offensive into the videogame industry, how will they go about it? Samsung has several powerful mobile devices at its disposal already, so it could theoretically just focus on mobile gaming, perhaps taking them to the level of respect consoles have. Then there’s Samsung’s Smart TVs, which could also benefit from a cloud-gaming service of some kind.

I highly doubt Samsung would release any dedicated gaming hardware considering all the options it has, but only time will tell.
