Far Cry New Dawn Crash At Launch, No Audio And Fixes

Far Cry New Dawn is the latest entry in the Far Cry franchise and also the first game in the series to be a direct sequel. Like Far Cry 5, the game looks phenomenal on consoles and PC. However, the PC version of Far Cry New Dawn is not free of errors and issues like crashes, black screen and more.

The following are the list of Far Cry New Dawn errors and issues that players have reported along with their fixes and workarounds.

ERROR Snowshoe-9E42873B Fix

Snowshoe is another error that PC players are experiencing with Far Cry New Dawn. However, the fix for this error is quite simple.

The error is popping up for those using dual GPUs and that is the reason causing the error. Just disable SLI or Dual GPU and the issues will resolve.

Crash At Launch, Game Not Launching Fix

Players are reporting that when they start the game nothing happens. The fix for Far Cry New Dawn not launching is simple, just close Uplay and Steam. Now start both Steam and Uplay as an Administrator.

If this doesn’t resolve the issue then it might be your anti-virus software or Windows Defender detecting the game’s exe as a trojan. You can either disable your anti-virus or make an exception for it. This should resolve the issue.

Crash Fix

Far Cry New Dawn players are reporting random crashes while playing the game. There is a fix that might work for you. Open Command Prompt and type “bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOff” and press enter. The system will restart and you need to start the game as an administrator and the issue should resolve.

Also, HD Textures are also the culprit behind Far Cry New Dawn crashes, so disable them and the game won’t crash. Also, make sure you are using the latest GPU drivers and disable 3rd-party monitoring software like MSI Afterburner.

Audio Fixes

Far Cry New Dawn has audio issues like lack of dialogue audio for NPCs. The issue might be the wrong audio channels selected for your audio device.

Right click on the sound icon in the bottom right and select “Sounds”. Select “Playback” and select your active audio device and click “Configure”.

Select the correct audio channels and click Test. This will set the right audio channels for your headphones or speakers and the audio problem will resolve. However, there is a chance that only stereo will fix this problem.

Black Screen Fix

The black screen is a common issue in PC video games, however, mostly it isn’t a critical one. If you are experiencing this problem, start the game when the black screen appears, press “ALT + Enter” and the game will go into Windowed mode and will start to display.

Now go to the video settings and change the resolution to your monitor’s native resolution and you can play Far Cry New Dawn in fullscreen.

Low FPS, Stuttering Fix

Performance is a major issue for PC gamers and given that there are so many PC configurations in the world, performance issues are bound to pop up. Here are a few things you can do eliminate stuttering and boost FPS.

First, install latest GPU driver as they bring game-specific optimizations and also make sure there is no program running that is using too much of your CPU and HDD.

For Nvidia GPU owners, open Nvidia Control Panel and select “Manage 3D settings” and select “Program Settings”. Select Far Cry New Dawn from the drop-down list and set power management to “High Performance”. This should eliminate any stuttering and FPS drops in the game.

Those who at least own Nvidia GTX 10 GPU open Nvidia Control Panel and select “Manage 3D settings” and select “Program Settings”. Select the game from the list and set Vertical.sync to “Fast”.

This will give you a potential FPS boost if you have the GPU and the CPU to deliver it. This will mostly work for GTX 1060 and above GPUs.

That is all for our Far Cry New Dawn errors like a crash at launch, stuttering and more along with fixes and workarounds.
